RemarksZanziba was the brain child of an experienced yachtsman and commercial ship owner who had owned many yachts over his illustrious career, but wanted to create something traditionally classic with modern technology. It took over 3 years from initial concept until the first piece of timber was laid.
Designer David Wright was appointed. He had worked with Terence Disdale Design on many projects including the: -
92m Blohm & Voss M.Y. - Mayan Queen86m Feadship M.Y. - EcStaSea53m Feadship M.Y. Hurrican Run (voted best interior Showboat Magazine 2010)David has spent an extensive amount of time on this project ensuring that it has a timeless exterior and the interior has a different colonial feel from your now standard hard cornered designs.
Also Turkish Naval Architects - Alparslan Tekogul are expert in the construction of epoxy resin cold molded mahogany vessels. In addition to this, Fairlee Restoration (Britains premier wooden restoration company) work closely in the design and the build construction.
This is an opportunity to stop at this mid stage of construction to take advantage of the current status of the vessel and fully customize the interior to their particular taste. The client who contracted the vessel is unable to perform and there is opportunity to step into his position. The builder is willing to accept creative payment terms with minimum payment to continue with this project.
Zanziba was specifically designed with charter in mind making this one of only a handful of classic schooners of a pedigree nature. There is a massive list of parts and a detailed scope of works to finish project which can be completed in less than 8 months. Someone will ultimately make a fantastic deal and be part of yachting history.
